WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for
the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the
Quorum), by the Church-wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields in the Said
County, That Margaret Chanter< no role > Wife of William Chanter< no role > (gone from her and now
in actual Service in the Middlesex Militia as a Substitute for John Guildroy< no role > of the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square in the said County) and her two Children
by her said Husband Vizt. Catherine< no role > aged about three years and William< no role > aged
about one year and Seven Months have lately come into the said
Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields ; and that the allowance that might
be made to her and her said two Children for their relief as the Family of a
Substitute Militiaman would not be wholly sufficient for their support
and that she hath no other means of procuring support, but is willing and
desirous to be Removed to the Place of the last legal Settlement of her said Husband.
[..]
[..] And it appeareth unto us the
said Justices, and we do adjudge that they are likely
to become chargeable to the said Parish; of Saint Giles in the fields and upon Exa-
mination of the Premises taken upon Oath, and other Cir-
cumstances, it further appeareth unto us, and we do like-
wise adjudge, that the Parish of Saint James within
the Liberty of Westminster in the said County
is the Place of the last legal
Settlement of the said William Chanter< no role > and of his said
Wife and two Children.

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields forthwith
to remove and convey the said Margaret Chanter< no role > and
her said two Children
from the Said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields to the
Said Parish of Saint James within the Liberty of Westminster
and deliver them to the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to Some or one of them, who are
hereby required to provide for them according to Law.
Given under our Hands and Seals the 14th Day
of April 17 80

To the Church-wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the respective Parishes of
Saint Giles in the Fields in the County of
Middlesex , and Saint James within
the Liberty of Westminster in the
said County
and to all other Officers whom it may
concern.
