To the Worshipfull His Majesty's Justices
of the peace for the County of Middlesex in
their General Session of the peace Assembled

The Humble Petition and Appeal of Elijah Fletcher< no role >
of Long Alley Moorfields in the Parish of Saint Leonard
Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex Taylor

Sheweth


That by a certain Indenture or Deed Poll bearing date the Tenth
day of December in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred
and Sixty Eight It is Witnessed That Peter Ayrey< no role > of the Parish of
Saint Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex did put
himself Apprentice to your petitioner to learn his Art and with him
after the manner of an Apprentice to serve from the day and date
thereof unto the full end and term of seven Years from thence next
ensuing and fully to be compleat and Ended And that your Petitioner
in Consideration of the Sum of ten pounds of lawfull Money of Great
Britain his said Apprentice in the Art of a Taylor which he then used
did thereby Covenant to Teach and Instruct or cause to be taught
and Instructed in the best way and manner that your Petitioner could
finding and allowing unto his said Apprentice sufficient Meat
Drink washing Cloaths Lodging and all other necessaries during
the said Term of Seven Year's as by the said Indenture or Deed poll
Relation being thereunto had will more fully and at large Appear

That your Petitioner from the Time of making the said Indenture
or Deed poll hitherto hath performed fulfilled and kept all and every
the Covenants and Agreements in the said recited Indenture or Deed poll
mentioned or his part to be performed fulfilled and kept according to the
Tenor and Effect of the said recited Indenture or Deed Poll And that
the said Peter Ayrey< no role > hath not performed fulfilled and Kept all
the Covenants and Agreements in the said recited Indenture or Deed poll
mentioned on his part to be performed fullfilled and kept according to
the Tenor and Effect of the said recited Indenture or Deed poll
For that the said Peter Ayrey< no role > after the first three Months of his said
Apprenticeship without your Petitioners Leave or Consent at Eight
sundry Times both by Night and by Day from his said Service hath
absented himself even for a fortnight together sometimes for about a
Week and at other Times for less Likewise hath frequently disposed of his
Cloaths and returns back to your petitioner sometimes by himself and at
other Times brought home by the Watchman all in Rags.
