James Long< no role > of new Nichol Sheet in the Parish of Saith Matthew
Bethnal Green In the bounty of Middlesex Weaver Maketh Oath
and Saith that Some time in August last he this Deponent was at
the Reverend Dr Whitfield's Meeting in or near upper Moor fields in
the said county and that Shortly after this Deponent was there he-
this Deponent did see ore George Payne< no role > pick the Pockett of one
Samuel Greenway< no role > of a Cloth Called a Childs Pin Cleath of a very
Trifling Value which said Samuel Greenway< no role > as Deponent is
Informed and Verily which believes upon Strick Inquiry lives in Wore ester Shire
and is a very Poor and Necessitous Person and is Cline fly Kept on
Charity which said George Payne< no role > was Immediatly taken to a
Place of safety and the next Morning was brought before Mr. Justice
Girdler and was by him Committed to Clerkenwell Bridewell and
the said Samuel Greenway< no role > and this Deponent ware Bound over to
Presents the said George Payne< no role > in the September Sessions following
as Hicks's Hall in the said County and this Deponent Saith that
he did Attend at the said Sessions at Hicks's Hall in the Monday
and Tuesday in the said Sessions with an Expectancy of seeing-
the said Samuel Greenway< no role > and this Deponent saith that after
Waiting at the said Hall as above said and not Seeing the said
Samuel Greenway< no role > and not hearing this Deponents's Name Called
he this Deponent did Apprehend that he had no further
Business to do and this Deponent Saith that is was not through
any Wilfull Neglect ar any Partiality that he did not preface as
Bill of Indictment against the said George Payne< no role > but Intirely
though Ignorance as he this Deponent did not Apply too or
Ask any Person what Steps he was to take therein but Apprehended
as above set forth that as he had Attended and not bring balled he
was Intirely Discharged from the Recognignce he this Deponent had
Entered into And this Deponent Lastly Saith that he is a very poor
Journeyman Weaver and hath a Wife and ban Scarcely get Money
Enough to provide for him self and Family.
