Informations of Witnesses severally Taken and Acknowledged
On the behalf of Our Sovereign Lord the King the Eleventh day
of December in the Year of Our Lord 1766 and in the Seventh
Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lords King George the Third
by the Grace of God of Great Britain Etc-before Thomas Phillips< no role >
One of the Coroners for the said County touching the death of
Mary Hobbs< no role > then and there lying dead as follow (to wit)

John Cobb< no role > of Old George Street Spitalfields Saith he hath known the
Deceased about three MonthsThat the Deceased was about ten Years old & was an
Apprentice to Mary Collins< no role > who Lived next Door but One to Informant
That Collins had the Deceased out of Shoreditch Workhouse and had
forty Shillings with her as he Debs.That Informants Warehouse Lies
backwards And about three Months ago he heard the Cries of some
Person And upon Looking to find where the Voice Came from he
found it to be the Deceased who was then in a Milberry
Free in Collins's YardThat there was Collins at the
bottom of the Tree And there was a Man in the Tree (who he
knows not) above the Deceased and he was fashing a Cord to
One of the BranchesThat he thinks the Man was three or four
Yards above the DeceasedThat Informant Called to Collins
and Askd' her is she was going to Murder the Deceased And
the Man in the Free Answered that he woud hang them all
for so much a Piece But Collins made no Answer
That then the Man and the Deceased Came out of the Free and
went with Collins into her House and Informant did not see
the Rope fastned to the Deceased Or anything at all done to her
That Informant afterwards went into Collins house and askd'
her what she meant by Attempting to Hang the ChildBut whether
[..] That Collins Answered she was a Naughty Girl had stolen
an Handkerchief and a Knife But wher. she said she
did the Above to frighten her or what was her Answer
Informant don't know That about five Weeks ago
when Informant Came down One Morning he found the Deceased
