At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the king holden for the County
of Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the County aforesaid by adjournment on Friday the
twenty fifth day of October in the twenty eighth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
second king of Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role > John Dekewer< no role >
William Withers< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King
assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and determine divers Felonies
Trespasses and other Misdeeds committed in the same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint George
the Martyr in the County of Middx exhibited their humble Petition and Appeal into this Court
at this present General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the said County by adjournment on Monday
the twenty first day of October instant Setting forth That by virtue of an Order or Pass
Warrrant under the Hands and Seals of Philip Dyot< no role > and John Fielding< no role > Esquires two of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said County (one being of the Quorum) bearing date the
eleventh day of October instant Ann Scott< no role > Widow of John Scott< no role > deceased was removed from
the Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields in the said County to the said Parish of Saint George the Martyr
as the Place of her last legal Settlement And that the Petitioners thinking themselves
aggrieved by the said Order or Pass Warrant of the said two Justices appealed to this Court
against the same Whereupon it was by an Order made by this Court on the said twenty first day
of October instant Ordered that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of Saint Giles in the Fields should have Notice of the said Petition and Appeal and that they and
all Persons removed should attend this Court on this present Friday the twenty fifth day of October
instant to hear and abide the Judgement and Determination of the same Court touching the
said Appeal Now upon hearing of what was alledged by Mr. Lawson of Council for the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields and
also by Mr. Serjeant Hayward of Council for the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of Saint George the Martyr This Court being of Opinion to adjourn the
hearing of the said Appeal doth Order that the hearing and determining the Matter of the
said Appeal be and the same is hereby adjourned untill the next General Session of the
Peace to be holden for the said County and that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields and all Persons concerned do attend
the Court of the said next General Session of the Peace to be holden for the said County
by adjournment on Thursdaythe fifthday of December next at ten of the
Clock in the Forenoon to hear and abide the Judgment and Determination of the
same Court touching the said Appeal.
