The Information of James Taylor< no role > a Sergeant in
the Coldstream Regiment of foot Guards in
Lieutt. Colonel A Court Company taken before
me this 18th. day of October 1753.

Who being upon Oath says that on Tuesday the 18th. day of September last
about two o' Clock in the afternoon one Allen Latty< no role > a Private Centinel in the
third Regiment came to this Informant on the Parade in St. James's Park and told
him that he wanted to Speak with him concerning John Hamilton< no role > , to which this
Informant asked the said Allen Latty what was the matter with [..] the said
Hamilton that he had missed his Guard, to which the said Allen Latty replyed
he the said Hamilton had fallen into an Affray last Night (meaning Monday the
17th. of September last) in Drury Lane by being sett upon by a Sett of Villians
who had Stabb'd him either with a Knife or a Segmiter in two places of his body
to wit the Breast and the bottom of his Belly, He likewise told this Informant
that the said Hamilton had lain near twelve hours in he Blood and that he did
not expect him to live till the next Morning, and therefore desired this Informt.
to get him into the Infirmary, but this Informant's telling him he could not, the
said Allen Latty< no role > went away, And this Informt. further says that the next day
he went to the house of one Neal in Parkers Line to Inquire for the said
Hamilton but not finding him there this Informant found his Regimental Cloathes, And says
that afterwards he went to the house of Alexr. Kennedy< no role > in Brooks Markett
and there found the said Hamilton concealed in a Closet up [..] two pair of Stairs with his Shoes
in his hand
