London to witt. James Price< no role > of the parish of Saint Ann in the County of
Middlesex George John Purnell< no role > of the same place Ship wright
John Dixey< no role > of the same place Victualler and John Lester< no role > of the
same place Sawyer Joyntly and severally make Oath and say
And first this Dept: James Price< no role > for himself saith that about the
beginning of March last to the best of this Deponents remembered
as to the time he this Deponent was bound in a Recognizance
before Six Samuel Gower< no role > knight one of his Majesties Justices of the
peace for the County of Middlesex to appear at the then meet Session
of the peace to be holden for the said County of Middlesex and give
Evidence against the said Thomas Hall< no role > for stealing a China
Parish bowl the property of the said James Gilbert< no role > And this Dept:
saith that at the said next Session of the peace to witt the Second
day of May last past he this Deponent did attend the Session at
Hicks hall in order to have given his Evidence to the Grand Jury
against the said Hall and waited there some time but not seems
the Prosecutor or any of his Witnesses this Deponent then made
Enquiry and was informed that the Bill was found and sent to this
honourable Court whereupon this Deponent imediately time to
this honourable Court and waited at the Door of this Court as near
as he could get during the trial of the said Hall and until the same
was over but this Deponent could not get Admittance into the said
Court the he often endeavoured it And this Deponent saith he was
then ready and willing to have given his Evidence against the said
Hall according to the tenor of the said Recognizance had this Deponent
been called for that purpose But this Deponent saith that he never
saw the Prosecution or any of his Witness at this Court at the last
Session Nor doth this Deponent believe that he this Deponent was
called in Court for had this Deponent heard himself called he
would have given his Evidence agt. the said Hall And these Depts:
John Purnell< no role > John Dixey< no role > and John Lester< no role > for themselves say
that on the second day of May last past they attended at Hicks hall
& at this honourable Court on the prosecution of one Nicholas Ellsey< no role >
for stealing a Crane rope at both which places these Deponents
