At the General Session of the peace of our Sovereign Lord the King begun & holden
for the County of Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the County aforesaid on
Friday the thirty first day of August in the thirteenth year of the reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Britain Etc before Sr. Edward
Hill

Said Lord the King Assigned to keep the peace in the County aforesaid and also
to hear and determine divers felonys Trespasses and other misdeeds
[..] in the Same County, and from thence continued by Several
[..] this [..] ) Thursday the Sixth day of September
[..] on the Same day holden at Hicks hall aforesaid
[..] for the [..] ye County before the above named Justices & other their
Fellows aforesaid.

It appearing to this Court that it is necessary that a Rate Should be
made upon the Towns, parishes and places in the County of Middx for
raiseing of moneys for the purposes mentioned in an Act of Parliament
made in the twelfth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King George
the Second, Intituled, An Act for the more easy assessing, collecting and
levying of County Rates, It is Ordered by this Court that a Rate be made
& assessed upon [..] parish or place in the Said County for
raiseing the Sum of eight hundred pounds (which this Court doth
think Sufficient) to answer the ends & purposes mentioned in the Said
Act, And this Court doth nominate and appoint John Higgs< no role > of Old
Southampton Buildings in the County aforesaid Gent to be Treasurer of
the moneys to be collected and levyed by vertue of the Said Rate, And doth
Order that he be allowed the Sum of twenty pounds by the year for his
care & paines in and about the execution of the Trust reposed in him
as Treasurer, And this Court being also of opinion that a Committee
[..] to inquire what money is now in the hands of
[..] or any high Constable or high Constables
[..] It is Ordered by this Court
