Sheweth
That your Petitioner by Indenture dated the fourth day of June
1734
was bound an Apprentice
to
Robert Walker< no role >
of Hoxton
in the Parish of Saint
Leonard Shoreditch
in the County of Middlesex
watch Chain maker
to serve from
the date thereof for the Team of Seven Years And the said
Robert Walker< no role >
in consideration of Twelve Pounds in the said Indenture mentioned to be
paid by your Petitioners Mother agreed to Teach & instruct your
Petitioner in the Art of a Watch Chain Maker.
That your Petitioner hath ever since the said fourth day of June
faithfully served the said Robert Walker< no role >
as his apprentice
That the said Robert Walker< no role >
hath a Great many times beat
your Petitioner with large Sticks and other unlawfull Weapons
and thereby bruised your Petitioners flesh in a most Cruel and
Barbarous manner without any Provocation at all in order as
your Petitioner verily beleives to Compell your Petitioner to
purchase the remainder of his time of the said Robert Walker< no role >
he well Knowing your Petitioner to have Lately a Small Estate
left him
That there is a Branch in the said Art of a Watch Chain
Maker
which the said Robert Walker< no role >
refuses to let your Petr. learn
That in regard your Petr. is ready & willing to Serve the
remainder of the said Term of Seven Years in a quiet manner
Your Petr. therefore humbly prays your Worships
that you would be pleased to take his Case into
Consideration and to discharge him from his said
apprenticeship
or to order the said Robert Walker< no role >
to assigne over the said Indenture of apprenticeship
to some other person And that he may pay to
such other person part of the said Twelve pounds
so paid with your Petitioner or to order him
such other Releif in the premisses as to Your
Worships shall seem meet
And your Petitioner shall ever pray
