County of Middx Assembled in their Generall Quarter Sessions

The humble Petition & Appeale of the Severall Persons
whose Names are hereunto Subscribed Inhabitants of
the parish of Sheperton in the Division of Staines on
the said County on behalf of themselves & the rest of
the Inhabitants of the said Parish

Sheweth

That pursuant to the Statute in that Case made and
provided on the twenty Sixth day of December last the Constables
Headboroughs Churchwardens & Inhabitants of the said parish
Assembled together did make a List of a Competeit Number of the
Inhitants of the said Parish qualified to Serve the Office of Surveyors
of the Highways in the said parish for the Year ensueing to wit
Thomas Stone< no role > Alexander Battell< no role > Henry Rosewell< no role > & Prin
Thomas< no role > which said List they did return to severall of his Maties
Justices of the Peace for the said County at a special Sessions held
for the said [..] Division at the BushJune in Staines in the
said Division on the 11th day of January then next following

That notwithstanding such return the Justices present
at the said Special Sessions did appoint by warrant under their
Hands & Seales one John King< no role > an Inhitant of the said parish who
was not returned in the said List to be a surveyor of the
highways in the said parish

Yor. petr. think themselves aggrieved by such
Appointment and Appeale to this Court against the
same & humbly pray that the said John King< no role > may
be Discharged from the said Office of Surveyor of the
Highways & that one of the other persons named in the
said List may be appointed in his roome
