Wee whose Names are Subscribed and Seales hereunto affixed
two of his Majts. Justices of the Peace for the Citty & Libty of Westmr
aforsaid (Quor un)and Inhabiting near the Lymitts of the Parish Church of
the Parish of St Martin in the Feilds in the said Libty of Westmr . haveing mett
together and heard ye Complaint of the Curch Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish of St. Martin in the Feilds concerning a Male Bastard
child baptized James< no role > born in the said Parish on the Body of Letitia Oldesworth< no role >
Singlewoman on the Sixth day of October Instant Do find upon the
Examinacon of the said Letitia Oldsworth< no role > taken before us upon Oath and other
Circumstances That Mr Richard Newdigate< no role > did begett on the Body of the said
Letitia Oldsworth< no role > the said Male Bastard Child And that the said Male
Bastard Child was born in the said Parish of St. Martin in the Feilds And that
the said Letitia Oldsworth< no role > And her said Male Bastard Child are now Chargeable
to the said Parish We the said Justices do therefore adjudge him the said Richard
Newdigate
< no role > to be the reputed father of the said Male Bastard Child And that
the said Child is now Chargeable to the said Parish And wee do therefore
farther adjudge Order & Appoint for ye Ease and discharge of the said Parish.
That the said Richard Newdigate< no role > do pay to the Church Wardens & Overseers
of the Poor of the said Parish the Sume of Eleaven Shillings and Six pence
P Week for the first four weeks from the birth of the said Child for keeping
the said woman and Child And after the Expiration of the said first Four Weeks
That the said Richard Newdigate< no role > do pay Weekly and every Week on
Wednesday thereof unto the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of
the said Parish for the time being the Sume of two Shillings and Sixpence for
Keeping and maintaining the said Male Bastard Child for so long as the
said Child Shall be chargeable to the said Parish, And wee do also Order
That the said Richard Newdigate< no role > do forthwith give Sufficient Security.
according to Law to perform this our Order Given under our hands
and Seales the Twenty fifth day of October Anno Dui 1714.
