which the said Mr Howard apprehended might be purchased by
the Trustees for the purpose of Building a House of Correction and
which he conceived would be a much more proper place for such a
Building than the Ground at present intended both on Account of
its being a more Airy Situation and because it would admit of a
more extensive Plan. And the Chairman having laid the said
Plan before the Court for the Inspection of the Magistrates.
Ground Viewed
A Motion was made that the Magistrates do now adjourned
to take a view of the said Ground and the same being agreed to
Premiums adjudged
The Justices proceeded to the said Ground and a View was
had accordingly. The Justices being returned-The Court now
proceeded to the Examination of the Plans delivered pursuant to
the Advertisements for that purpose and to adjudge the Premiums
to which they were entitled-whereupon it was
Resolved that the Plan No. 2 be Sealed up by the Clerk of
the Peace and returned to the Owner
Resolved that the Plan No. 14 be Sealed up by the Clerk of
the Peace and returned to the Owner
Resolved that the Plan No 15 be Sealed up by the Clerk of
the Peace and returned to the Owner
Resolved that the Plan No. 16. be Sealed up by the Clerk of
the Peace and returned to the Owner
Resolved that the Plan No. 19 be Sealed up by the Clerk of
the Peace and returned to the Owner
A motion was made that the Plan marked "Custodia
Salusque [..] is entitled to the Premium of Thirty Guineas. agreed to
A motion was made that the Plan marked R Brettingham
is entitled to the Premium of Twenty Guineas and upon the Question
being put upon the Shew of hands there appeared for the motion 8 against
it 13 whereupon it was declared to be Carried in the Negative
A motion was made that the Plan marked R is
entitled to the Premium of Twenty Guineas and the same was agreed
to.
