discharge of any person in pursuance of the said Act

Resolvedthat the fee due in like manner to the Keeper
of New prison be also raised to 77 in manner aforesaid

That the Clerk of the peace be allowed the Sum of 2
Guineas every Session of the peace to be holden for this County in him of any
advantage that he might have a Claim to by virtue of this Act for or in
respect to any Certificate to be given to the Goaler or Treasurer of the
acquittal or discharge of any prisoner under the same and that 2
Guineas a Session be allowed to him for those Sessions which have
Elapsed since the passing of the act

The Said Committee do further Report
That a Bill for Building a Work house and for the better relief and
Employment of the poor within the parish of Saint James Clerkenwell
in the County of Middlesex which was then before a Committee of
the House of Commons having been laid before the Committee and
it not appearing by the same that the Prisons of this County situate in
the said parish are exempted by Name from the payment of the
poors Rate as they have hitherto been in order to obviate any doubt
that might arise concerning the same Mr. Eyles was to apply to
Herbert Mackworth< no role > Esq and desire him to move the honourable
House of Commons that the following Clause might be inserted in the
said Bill Vizt. Provided always that nothing in this Act
"shall Extend or be construed to Extend to Tax Rate or assess for
"any of the purposes thereof any part of the Goal commonly called
" New Prison at Clerkenwell nor of the House of Correction both
"situate in the parish of St. James Clerkenwell " And that if there
was any Opposition to the insertion of the said Clause or any
Difficulty attending the same upon Notice thereof Given by Mr.
Mackworth to Mr. Eyles he was immediately to apply to the
Members of the County and those of the City of Westminster and
Sir Charles Whiteworth< no role > for their assistance therein but Mr. Eyles
having applied to Mr. Mackworth informed the Committee that
Mr Mackworth had procured the Clause to be inserted in the
said Bill accordingly

All which the Committee Submit Etc.
It is Ordered that the said Report be Confirmed and the
said Report of the Committee is hereby in every thing ratified and confirmed
accordingly And it is further Ordered that the said Committee do
proceed under the references to them made
