The Committee having been informed by the Clerk of the Peace that
Advertisements had been inserted in the Publick Prints giving Notice of the
time and place for the receiving Petitions from the several Candidates for
the Office of Surveyor and a great Number having been delivered in
conformity therewith The Committee proceeded to read the Petitions and
Certificates of the several Candidates for the Office of Surveyor in the
following Order (vizt)

recommended by the Duke of Devonshire
