By Adjournment said Nineteenth Day of May 1763 .

Referrence to consider
of the prison Fees Etc

It is Ordered that it be and it is hereby recommended and
referred to his Majesty's Justices of the Peace here present and
such others of the Justices for this County as shall please to
be there or any three of them to meet at Hicks Hall in St John
Street aforesaid on Thursday the ninth Day of this Month of June
next by nine of the Clock in the Morning then and there to
inspect the Tables of the Fees taken or claimed by the Keepers
of New prison and the House of Correction at Clerkenwell and
to consider whether the same or either of them are anywise
unreasonable and in what respect or particular And also
to examine into the Salaries allowed or allowable to the said
Keepers or either of them And likewise any oppressions or
ill Conduct hath been used by them or either of the towards
the prisoners And the said Comittee have power to Adjourn
as they shall see fit And the Keepers are to Attend them
to give such information touching the premes as may
be Enquired of the Said Keepers respectively And the said
Committee are desired to make their report of the Matters
hereby referred and whatsoever else shall come to their
Knowledge relating to the said Prisons on the County day
of the next Session

Stauds suspended from the Government of the said House
by Order of Court of the Twenty fourth day of February last
for neglecting the Duty of his Office place or Employment
Now praying to be restored and promising to Amend his
Conduct and behave himself well in his said Office for the
future Is by this Court restored accordingly upon his pro-
mise of Amendment and diligent Attendance upon the Duty
of his said Office.
