At this Court a Representation in Writing Subscribed by a great Number of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for this County and the City and Liberty of Westminster
and now present in Court being Delivered in and read Setting forth that they are of
Opinion the Opening of several Publick Offices at proper and Convenient distances
from each other for two Magistrates to sit daily by Rotation (Sundays Excepted) in
each of these Offices for the Administration of Justice will not only add Honour to
the Commission but be productive of several good purposes That never the less as a
due consideration of the many Advantages naturally Arising from that or some other
Method will require more time than can be given at this Court The Countenance
and Concurrence of this Court was thereby desired that this Session would Appoint
a Committee to Consist of a Sufficient Number of Gentlemen from the several
Divisions in and near this Metropolis to prepare a Plan for carrying that Design
into Execution This Court doth hereby recommend and refer it to his Majestys
Justices of the Peace now present and to such other of his Majestys said Justices for
this County or any Seven or more of them as shall please to meet together as a Comittee
to consider of the said Representation and of a Proper plan or Method of Establishing
and Carrying the Design thereof into Execution which Committee is hereby desired to
meet (on notice for that Purpose to be given by the Cryer of this Court) at Hicks Hall
aforesaid on Thursday the Fifth day of May next Ensuing by Nine of the Clock in the
Forenoon or such other Day or hour as shall be thought more convenient and to
Adjourn from time to time as they shall see fit And to Report their Opinion to the
next Session on the County day of the same Session

Upon Reading the Petition of Stephen Randall< no role > Butcher high Constable of Hensington
Division in the Hundred of Ossuiston within the said County Settingforth (among other
things) that he was Appointed High Constable of said Division at the then last Easter Sessions
That he hath performed the Duties of his Office ever since to the best of his Ability and
should very Chearfully Execute the same till another should have been Appointed in his
stead without his Application But that his further continuance in the said Office would
be very Detrimental to him in his business And Praying therefore that he might be
Discharged from his said Office and this Court being satisfied in the Premisses And
that he hath Settled and Cleared his Accounts with the Treasurer of this County Doth
Appoint John Randall< no role > of the Parish of Chelsea in the Division and Hundred aforesaid
Timber Merchant to be High Constable of the said Division in the place and stead of the
said Stephen Randall< no role > And this Court doth Order that the said John Randall< no role > do forthwith
on Notice hereof Attend one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said County
Residing in or near the said Division and take his Oath for the due Execution of his said
Office and from and after the said John Randalls taking such Oath the said Stephen Randall< no role >
is to stand Absolutely discharged from the said Office.
