and George Errington< no role > Esquires to employ such Workmen or Workmen
as they shall think proper to rebuild the aforesaid Building in New
Prison called the Taphouse and Womens Ward according to
the aforesaid Plan proposed to Mr. Mainwaring with such
Alterations as he Shall approve, and to be done with good and
sound Materials in a Substantial and workman like manner
so as the whole Charge do not exceed the said Sum of three
hundred Pounds and as to the said Masters wanting at
Clerkenwell Bridewell it is hereby recommended to the said
Mr. Mainwaring and Mr. Errington to Cause a Shed to be
erected for the Prisoners to be in in the day Time to be larger
than the Old one and to Order the two necessary houses to be
emptyed and repaired and the Drains cleaned and the
Kennell in the yard to be rectyfyed so as the Water may
run with a good Current and to employ such Workmen to do
all which this Court doth ordered be done under direction of the sd. Mr. Mainwaring Mr. Errington
the Same as they shall think of And the Said Mr. Mainwaring

and Mr. Errington< no role > are desired to view and see that the

respective Works abovementioned be well and sufficiently done
and performed And to certyfy an Account of the Charge and
Expence of doing the same after the same shall be finished
and compleated to the Court of the Sessions of the Peace for
this County to the End the Court may give direction for paying
the Same

Order for adjorning the
Consideration of allowing a
Yearly Salary in Lied of Fees
to the Keeper of the House of
Correction at Clerkenwell
untill the County day of
the next Session}

It is ordered by this Court that the Consideration of what
Yearly Salary or reasonable Compensation and how to be
raised may be proper to be allowed to the Keeper of the
House of Correction at Clerkenwell in Lieu of Fees for
his Trouble and Expences to take Care of the Prisoners
and prevent their Escapes he having not had any
Allowance except his Fees, for his said Trouble and
expences be adjorned untill the County day of the next
General Session of the Peace for this County.
