By Adjornment on Thursday the Ninth Day
of April 1752 .

Recomendatery Order
for Justices of the Peace in
their respective Divisions
not to Sign Certificates for
allowing Moneys for passing
Rogues & Vagabonds until
a Rect. be produced from
the Peace Officer of the
Parish or place to which
they were ordered to be Sent.}

Information being given unto this to wit that some
Justices of the peace of this county do give certificates of what
Moneys they Allow to petty Constables or other peace Officers
for passing and relieving of Rogues and Vagabonds notwith
standing they do not produce to such Justices respectively
any Reciept as by the statute is Required from the Constable or
other peace officers of the parish or place to which such a
Rogues or Vagabonds were ordered to be carreyed, so that it
doth not appear whether such Rogues or Vagabonds were
realty conveyed thither by means whereof the High Constables
may be imposed upon and required, to pay moneys to petty
constables and other peace officers upon precence of passing
and Relieving Rogues and Vagabonds which were not a
passed or to the parish or place where they were ordered
to be passed For Remedy whereof It is Ordered by this
Court that it be And it is hereby reccommended unto
his Majestys Justice of the peace residing or acting within
the Several Divisions in this County respectively not to
sign any certificate for allowing Money or at Least not to
deliver the same out to any petty constable or other
peace officer for the passing and Relieving any Regueor
Vagabond unless he produces to such Justices of the
Peace a Reciept as the Statute doth Require from the
Petty Constable or other peace officer of the parish or place
to which such Rogue or Vagabond was ordered to be
passed or conveyed and makes oath of his Harrings
Left with him such Rogue or Vagabond And for the
better Notifications of this order It is further ordered that
printed copys thereof be sent to every Division and to
every High Constable in this County.
