By adjornment on Thursday the 11th. day of September 1746

Order desiring Boulton
Mainwaring Esqr . to survey
the Painting Work and other
Work done in and about
repairing Hicks hall Etc}

Whereas by an Order made by this Court on the third day of July last It was Ordered
that the Great Dining Room and the Lesser Dining Room at Hicks hall Should be painted
and whitewashed, and that the Window Frames should be also painted, and that some other
Matters should be done at Hicks hall as should be necessary, And whereas It was by a
subsequent Order of Sessions made on the fifteenth day of the same Month of July
Referred unto Boulton Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . to give direction to the respective Workmen to do
what Work he should think necessary or proper to be done at Hicks hall aforesaid It being
intended by the Court that the Work to be by them done thereunto should be under his direction
to the end the same might be done and performed in a Substantial and workman like manner and
no more be done than what he shall expressly Order and think necessary, And It was also
referred to the said Mr. Mainwaring to direct Posts to be placed and Set up to keep
Waggons Drays Carts and Carriages from off the Walls of Hicks hall , and to prevent them
from doing any damage thereunto Now To the intent that it may appear that the
Painting Work and other Work directed to be done by the respective Workmen at
Hicks hall aforesaid be done in a due and Substantial manner It is Ordered that the said
Mr. Mainwaring be and he is hereby desired to Survey the same, and to examine what
Sum of money each Workman deserveth and ought to be allowed for his Work, And to
certify an Account thereof in Writing to the Court of Sessions of the Peace for this County.

Order for altering the
time of the comeaceal of
of October Sessions 1746
on account of the
Thanks giving day}

Whereas it was intended that the next Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the County of
Middx Should begin at Westminster on Thursday the ninth day of October next but in
regard that day is appointed to be a day of General Thanks giving for the Success of his
Majestys Arms in Suppressing the late unnatural Rebellion raised in this Kingdom
This Court doth think it proper to after the time for the Commencement of the said Sessions
And doth Order that the next Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the County of Middx
do begin at Westminster on Tuesday the Seventh day of October next and be
adjourned from thence and be holden at Hicks Hall on Monday the thirteenth day of
the Same Month and on several other subsequent days as Occasion may require for
dispatching the Business of the same Sessions.
