I Send you in closed a Copy of an Order of Council,
dated the 4th. Inst. directing, that No More Seamen Should
be taken up, within the County of Middlesex
for Manning

's Fleet, untill His Majesty< no role >
's Pleasure Shall be
further Signified: And I am to desire, that you will lay
the Same before the Justices of the Peace
of the Said County
of Middlesex
, to the end that the Said Order may be
immediately and punctually obey'd.

Whereas, by
His Majesty< no role >
's Command, a Letter was
wrote to your Grace by the Lords of
His Majesty< no role >
's most
Honourable Privy Council, dated the 31st. of July last,
requiring your Grace to call upon the Justices of the Peace
within the County of Middlesex
, & Strictly to enjoyn them
to cause all Stragling Seamen that Should be found fit to
Serve on board
His Majesty< no role >
's Ships to be takeen up & Sent to
the Several Ports (as was therein directed) for the Speedy
manning
His Majesty< no role >
's Fleet, And whereas the Lords
Commissioners of the Admiralty
have this day

at this Board, that there are
no considerable Number of Men wanting to man the Ships
now in Commission at home and therefore proposed,
that a Stop Should be put to the taking up any more
Seamen or Seafaring Men
for the Present:

is thereupon pleased with the Advice of His Privy Council
to Order, as it is hereby ordered, that your Grace do give
the necessary Directions to the Justices of the Peace
