is now in very great decay for Evant of Repair For the Repaire
whereof a Rate was made in January Sessions last upon the several
Parishes & places in this County for raiseing the Sum of two hundred
Pounds) It Appeareth to this Court by the said Report that some of
the Parishes within Holborn Division, Kensington Division,
Finsbury Division , The Tower Division, and Westminster
Division in the said County have paid the Moneys Assessed upon
them by the said Rate but that the the Parishes within
the same Divisions have not paid the Moneys thereby
Assessed or them, And that Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of
the Moneys raised or to be raised by Vertue of the said Rate
hath Informed the said Committee that he had received the
Sum of One hundred ten pounds four shillings and five pence
three farthings in part of the said Rate, And this Court
being well Satisfyed that it is highly necessary that the said
Bridge should be forthwith repaired Doth Order that it be
and it is hereby recommended and referred unto Sr. Henry
Vincent Bart< no role > . Sr . Francis Child< no role > Knt. James Clitherow< no role >
Robert Moreton< no role > Richard Bulstrode< no role > John Tarver and
Charles Bere< no role > Esqrs . seven of his Majestys Justices of the
peace for this County resideing in or near New Brentford
Division in the said County or any three or more of them
as a Comittee to treat with some able and Experienced
Workman or Workmen for the effectual repairing of the said
Bridge for such Prices as the said Committee shall think,
reasonable, And to Contract with or to take a contract or
contracts from such Workman or Workmen for their well
and Sufficiently repairing the said Bridge in a
Substantiall & Workman like manner, And for their
finding and providing Sound & Substantial timber, Stone,
Irongravel and other Materials for that purpose at such
prices as the said Committee shall in their Judgement
think reasonable, as by a former Order in such behalf
was Specifyed, And in regard it may be necessary that
Money should be Advanced to Erable such Workman or
Workmen to Undertake and proceed to do the said repairs It
is further Ordered by this Court that the said Treasurer do out
of the Moneys by him already reced or to be reced upon the
said Rate pay such Sum or Sums of Money for that end and
purpose to such three of the said Committee (or other Person to
be by them Authorized to receive the same on their behalf)
as shall by writing under their hands director require him
to pay the same, to be paid by the aforesaid Committee to
such Workman or Workmen as shall be by them Employed
