We do with great Satisfaccon further beg Leave to lay before
Your Lordship that it appeares by the Severall returns of
the Justices of Holborne Division That Mr. James Sharpless< no role >
high Constable of Holborne Division hath behaved himselfe
upon this occasion with extraordinary diligence resolucon
and integrity, and has Spent the greatest part of his time
in private Searches and otherwise in this Service and been
very instramentall in discovering and Suppressing
Nighthouses, gameing houses and other disorderly houses
distinguishing himselfe thereby to be a person very able
and amply qualifyed to perform with zeal and
resolucon whatever further duty may be required of him.
We the Justices now assembled in Generall Sessions
haveing proceeded thus farr thought it proper to lay
these particulars before your Lordship as also a copy of our
Representacon to the right honble. the Lord Chancellor
relating to the behaviour of Francis Jenison< no role > Esqr . one of
the Justices of this County humbly Submitting the more
distinct and particular consideration of what measures
may be necessary or proper to be pursued or what directions
most fitly given or applicon made for removall of the
Said difficultys and obstruccons to your Lordships Great
Wisdom.
