1 RIchard Taylor< no role > , committed by J. Girdler, Esq; on oath of Charlotte
Weston
< no role > , for feloniously assaulting her on the king's highway near
the Foundling Hospital , putting her in fear of her life, and de-
manding her money from her person, or he would beat out her brains
with a great stick he held in his hand if she did not deliver to him all
the money she had about her. Dated Dec. 9, 1777.

2 James Williams< no role > , convicted last session of felony (together with William
Yardley
< no role > ) in stealing goods the property of David Owen< no role > , made his
escape; and being retaken the 15th of December, 1777, remains for
judgment, Etc.

committed by J. Sherwood, Esq; on oath of William
Mudey, for privately stealing from his person, in the
dwelling-house of the said Mary Downes< no role > , £2.12s.6d. his property.

4 Thomas Sherwood< no role > , committed by Sir John Fielding< no role > , Knt . on oath of
John Stonehouse< no role > , on suspicion of having feloniously uttered and pub-
lished as true, knowing it to be falsely made, forged and counterfeited,
a certain deed purporting to be the deed and letter of attorney of the
Rev. John Myonett< no role > , D.D. and the Rev . James French< no role > , to constitute
and appoint the said Thomas Sherwood< no role > their true and lawful attorney
to transfer £700 interest or share in the capital stock of Three per Cent.
Annuities, against the statute, Etc. for farther examination. Dated
Dec. 25, 1777.

Detained on oath of John Stonehouse< no role > , John French< no role > , Richard Payne< no role > ,
James French< no role > , and Samuel Nisbett< no role > , for feloniously forging and coun
terfeiting, and procuring to be forged and counterfeited, and knowingly
and wilfully acting and assisting in the forging and counterfeiting in
the city of London , a certain letter of attorney to transfer, assign, sell,
and convey a certain share of and in a certain capital stock established
by act of parliament, purporting to be the letter of attorney of the
Revd . John Myonnett< no role > , D.D. and the Revd . James French< no role > , making,
constituting, and appointing the said Thomas Sherwood< no role > their true and
lawful attorney for them, in their names and on their behalf to sell,
assign, and transfer all or any part of seven hundred pounds, being all
their joint interest or share in the capital or joint stock of Three per Cent.
Annuities, erected by an act of parliament of the 25th year of the reign
of His Majesty King George the Second, intitled, "An act for con-
verting the several annuities therein mentioned into several joint stocks
of annuities transferable at the Bank of England, to be charged on the
Sinking Fund," and by several subsequent acts; and feloniously, know-
ingly, and fraudulently demanding, and endeavouring to have the said
share in stock transferred, assigned, sold, and conveyed, contrary to the
statutes, Etc. Dated Dec. 26, 1777 .
