MIDDLESEX COMMITMENTS.

of Gloucester, on complaint and information of William Capel< no role > , of Stroud
in the said county, that on Wednesday evening, the 3d of September, he
was attacked by two lusty footpads, armed with horse-pistols, on the
high road between Cirencester and Minchinhampton in the said county,
and there robbed him of about 8 guineas in money, a silver watch, and
a gun, and doth believe that Thomas Smart< no role > , who lately resided in the
said parish of Stroud or Randwich, in the said county, is one of the
persons that committed the said robbery. Dated Sept. 22, 1777.

Detained on oath of Paul Parker< no role > and others, on suspicion, and farther de-
tained for feloniously assaulting him on the king's highway, putting him
in fear, and feloniously taking from his person a silver watch. Dated
Sept. 20 and 24, 1777.

Detained on oath of John Morse< no role > and others, for feloniously assaulting him
on the king's highway. putting him in fear, and feloniously taking from
his person a watch. Dated Sept. 24 1777.

Detained on oath of Thomas Kirwan< no role > and others, for feloniously assaulting
him on the king's highway, putting him in fear, and feloniously taking
from his person a gold watch and a pocket book. Dated Sept. 24, 1777.

on oath of Mary Thompson< no role > and her own confession, for privately steal-
ing in the dwelling-house of Francis Thompson< no role > a trunk, in which were
2 two guinea pieces, 2 stone rings fet in gold, a silver thimble, Etc.

on oath of John Clark< no role > and another on suspicion, and detained for stealing
