for himself saith, That he did see
Mr. Sparrow of Snow Hill

and one of the
Common Counsellmen of the Ward of Farringdon

and requested him to speak for him this Deponent that he
this Deponent might have the Consent of the said Mr.
Sparrow
for renewing the Lycence of his House Known by
the Name or Sign of the Elephant and Castle
in Fleet Lane
London who promised this Deponent that he should not oppose
the same And this Deponent Samuel Faren< no role >
for himself
Saith that he did this day apply to Mr. Mansfield Watch
maker in Hosier Lane Smithfield
one other of the Common
Counsel men of the said Ward for the Like purpose when the
Said Mr. Mansfield, declared to this Deponent he had no
Objection that the other Deponent Should not have his
Lycence renewed and that if he came he would not
oppose the same or Word to that Effect
