promise & agree to and withye. sd. John Jones< no role > & John
Cox yt. this Deponent his ExtersAssigns shd. Y wd. at
his & their own proper cost andCharges carry or convey
or cause to be carried or conveyed over to ye. sd. Plantation
them ye. sd. John Jones< no role > & John Cox< no role > , and from thence forty & during ye, sd.
voiage, & ye. Term aforesd. shd. & wd. (at ye. the costs & charges) provide
for & allow them respectively all necessary meat drink washing &
loding & pay or allow ye. sd. Jones wages or salary at ye rate of
twenty five pounds Jamaica currency a year payable Quarterly,
and the sd. Cox theirty pounds sterling money of Great Britain
P Annum (payable as aforesaid) as in & by ye. sd. several Indres
(duly Registerd in ye. office for yt. purpose appointed by Letters
patents) and whereto ye. common seal of ye. sd. office is respectively
affixed and ye. Certificate thereof under ye. hand of Mr. Gyles Lane< no role >
Deputy to ye. Patented may appear And this Depont. further saith yt.
in full Gopes & expectation they ye. sd. Jones & Cox wd. (according to their
several clntracts or Agreemts. aforesd.) have proceeded, on their said
intended voiage to Jamaica, this Depont. did at ye. special Instance
& request of ye. sd. John Jones< no role > sundrey times (between ye. fourth and
twenty ninth Days of January last aforesd. Inclusive) lend advance
and pay to ye. sd. Jones four pounds of thereabouts in cash besides ye. Sum of
three pounds two shillings & six pence by this Depont. pd. for waearing Appeare
& other things, by this Depont. intended or designed for ye. sd. Jones, had be thought
fit to have gone to Jamaica aforesd. And ye. sd. John Cox< no role > Did on or before ye.
twenty ninth day of sd. January become Indebted to this Deponent one
pound fifteen shillings or thereabouts for his Board & money by this
Depont. cent to or paid for & on accot. of him ye. sd. Cox, over & above ye. sum of
Six pounds six shillings or thereabouts which this Depont. paid for
a Chest wearing Apparel & other necessaries, (which were intended
by this Depont. for ye. sd. Cox's use had he according to his sd. Agreement or
undertaking proceeded on ye. sd. voiage) And this Depont. further Saith
yt. ye. sd. John Jones< no role > & John Cox< no role > having (as required) on ye. twenty ninth
day of January aforesd. consented or agreed to go on board a
certain ship or vessel called ye. Britania, Capt. Wood Common
then lying at or near Gravesend , & bound for Jamaica aforesd. And
this Depont. having accompanied them ye. sd. Jones & cox to
Billingsgate there see them into a Boat in which ye. sd. other
Deponent Thomas Layton< no role > them went along with them, and to wch.
sd. Layton this Deponent did Previously give strict charge or
orders not (on any pretence wt. soever) to deliver or suffer or Pinct
ye. sd. Jones or Cox, or either of them or any other Pson or Psons
to take or carry away any peal of ye. sd. Apparel or other things
(this Deponents property) till after they the sd. Cox and Jones should
