Informations taken before John King< no role > Esqr . Cornor for the County of
Middlesex touching the Death of Thomas Moss< no role > , the [..] 2d Day
of Janry 1754 .

John Johnson< no role > of the Parish of St. Sepulchre London, This Information his Oath
Saith, that on Thursday the 27th. of Decemr. 1753. about I at Hight, he was altho Two
Fighting Cocks in Fled Lane , with the Deced Thomas Moss< no role > and John Hudson< no role >
Says that John Hudson< no role > them lay with his head on a Table as if he was a Sleep, And all
or a Sudden he started up and Clapt his hat down on the Table, and said that the would
fight the best Man in the House, Forth that the Deceased Thomas Moss< no role > turned about and
looked at him, Upon which John Hudson< no role > said you I take to be the best Man
and I will fight you for a Guinea and put down 2 Six pounds, And the Deceased
put down a Shilling, and they both agreed to fight the next day at 2 of the
Clock in the Afternoon Further says the next day about a quarter after 12 he this
Informant and the Deced were at the Fighting Cocks and sent for Hudson, who
can accordingly, And they drunk together, and then agreed to meet, at white
Conduit house at 2 a Clock the same Afternoon in Order to fight, and then parted,
And at 2 this Informant and the Deced woal together White Conduit House,
and in about a quarter of an hour in came Hudson, And they both shook hands
were into the house and talked the Affair over. But Moss the Deceased could not
raise the Money, but a Man then present said that he would be Answearable as for
as the pice of Leg of Mattor, of three Shillings Value, Says upon that Hudsons
Master who was then present pulled out 3s: and said that he would Answer the
same, Upon that the Deced and Hudson went to the care of the house and the
Deced had half a Quarter of Brandy [..] cock of , And Hudson had likewise
some thing to drink, And then they both went out about 200 Years from the
said House, and both shipt by Cresent shook hands again and went to Fighting
and Exchanged several Blores And that Hudson threw Moss te Deced 7 or 8 falls,
but Hudson had never a one at all, Says after the said falls the Deceased
a great Blow on the right side of his face, but still kept of fighting for 4 or 5
Ministor longer, And that they forget for 30 Minutes in all, But this in pound
bring forward to the Deced and seeing him so weak asked him if he would
not give out, But he replyed I will fight, and never spoke after. says
after it wsa over they carryed him to which Conduit house, but [..]
Spoke, And not geting a Coach carryed him on their backs home, And when
he was at home there seemed some Symptoms of Life and dyed soon after
Says that the said Moss was Sober when he fought
