Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
hands and Seals are hereunto sett two of his Majtys Justices of
the peace
for the City of London
(Quoru unus) by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
St Anne
Blackfryers
LondonThat Mary Doye Wife of
Benjamin Doye< no role >
with their two Children Vizt. John Aged about Eight
Years & Susanna aged about Seven years are lately come into the
said Parish endeavouring to Settle there contrary to Law and
unless timely prevented are likely to become chargeable
thereunto which We do adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appeareth unto us the said Justices upon the Oath of
Michael Fache That about Seventeen years ago the said Benjamin
Doye served the last twelve months of his Apprenticeship with one Francis
Shasteel a Fanstick master in the prcinct of Whitefryers London
and no other legal Settlement
elsewhere appearing unto us since We do also adjudge the
said Prcinct of Whitefryers
Londonto be the Place of their last
legal Settlement
These are therefore in his Majesty's name to will & require
you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of St Anne
Blackfryers
Londo forthwith to remove and convey
the said Mary Doye< no role >
& Jno & Susanna< no role >
her sd two Children
from out of your said Parish unto the said Prcinct of Whitefryers
London
and them deliver unto the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor there some or one of them who are
hereby required to receive and provide for them according to
Law. Given under our hands and Seals this 30thday of
