That many Prisonrs: are new and have been detained for Fees for
along time together after their pts have discharged them And in
Particular One Wm. Kalenberg< no role > was kept for Fees from the 16 of April
last to the month of September and after the Kings Bounty had paid the
Keeper) was longer detained under Pretence of 12s.6d more remaining
due whereof Complaint was made to the late Lord Mayor who orderd him
to be forthwith discharged yet it cost him a Guinea more before he
was Sett at Liberty and afterwards the sd Kalenburg comeing to see his
Fellow Prisonrs: was again detained by the Keeper untill he Exacted a
note of Hand from him for £10 payable to himself or order being
Shut up in a Room for that purpose without any Legal Process to
detaine him

The Sapps Kept by the Turnkeys wives in Prison of great
Hinderance and abuse to the Prisonrs: as well as Injurious to the Subjects
for many Reasons to be given to the Court

That the Priosnrs. are Stived up in their wards being more in
Number than can possibly live together which Accassions the
Sickness called the prison distember whereof great many Dye
whereas there is many small Lodging Roomes fitt to em certain
the Sick or well which the Keeper lett out for mony altho' the same
belongs to the Debtors being the Comon Side which they pray an
Inspection

That the Debtors every time the Keeper or Turnkey comes
up are beate peezeled into their Wards by Felons when they should
receive their Friends and see them safe in and out from
Insults and wrongs frequently Committed
