Whereas at thelastSessions of Peace held for this City at the Guildhall London
on Monday the 4th. of December last the Severall Appeals of the Compid of
Glovers London And also of Islordecmi Knight & others Inhabitants in the pish
of St. Gyles wth. out Cripplegt. in London (Exhibited to this Court at the Quarter Sessions held for this City in July last) praying for Releif upon the Poors Rate
of the sd. Parish by Wch. they are aggreived being over rated as they therein alledge And the said
Matters of Complaint being now Referred by thisthe sd.Court together wth. the consent of the
Severall Appellants & Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the said parish
of St. Gyles wth. out Cripplegate aforesaid unto the Rt. Honoble. Sr. Wm. Stewart< no role > Knt .
Lord Mayr. of this City & Robt Baylis< no role > Esqr one of the Aldermen of the Said City
to hear the sd. Appellants & Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the sd.
Pish of St. Gyles wth. out Cripplegt. aforesaid in Order to make a finall End of all
matters in Difference between the sd. Appellants & Churchwarden & Overseers
aforesaid if they could on or before the 8th. day of January instant And the
Report of the sd. Ld. Mayor & Aldran Baylis being now delivered into this Court and
their opinionsof the saidthereinnowRead It is ordered by this Court That
the Compa of Glovers London be Releived (Upon their Appeals to this Court
According to the Report of the said Ld. Mayor. & Aldran Baylis) To witt from
the paymt. of thirty Shillings yearly wth. wch. they are charged in the two Severall poores rate
of the sd. parish of St. Gyles wth. out Cripplegate in London for the years 1720 and
1721and that they do pay butSeventeen Shillings & Six pence unto the payment of only towards the Releife of the poor there for the year 1720 and also up to the paymentfor the year
1721of Seventeen Shillings & Six pence only for the year 1721 And that the said Mordecai Knight< no role > be
