Wee the Grand Jury Sworn and Charged to Enquire for our Sovereign
Lord the King and the Body of the City of London at Guildhall London
on Tuesday the fifteenth day of Mary 1716 And in the second Year of
the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God King of
Great Britain Etc. do present as followeth.

Imprimis


It is with Great Satisfaction that we find a Visible Encrease of Duty & Affection
to out Sovereign Lord King George and his Royal Family to which, the Care of
this Honble Court and the due Execution of the Law hath greatly contributed.

But there is something wanting to bring people to a right understanding of their Duty
and Allegianee to his Majesty. So We think it our Duty to propose the Consideracon of it to
this Honble Court That some effectuall Course be taken if possible to prevent the wandring
up and down the Street Lanes and Publick Marketts of this City and the Liberties thereof
of Great numbers of Idle Vagrant and disorderly Persons singing Ballads and vending small
halfe penny Slops of paper highly reflecting upon his Majesty's but Subjects Corrupting the
minds and Alienating the affections of his Majestys Subjects to cause Ammosities and to
stirr up Sedition and Ryots to the great disturbance of his Majesty's peace within this City and
to the great Scandall thereof.

We also do Therein a Scandalous and Seditions Weekly paper called poor Robins last
Shift. Shifted and also all other Scandalous papers reflecting upon the Government

We also do present those persons Driving Wheelbarrows throwing Dice for Oranges
therein being inducements for Youth to Gaming and the Obstruction of passengers in ye Streets.

We also do present those Idle Vagrant fellows and boys going about the Streets cleaning
Shoes on the Sabbath days.

The Consideracon of all this We leave to this Honble. Court humbly desireing
that Such measures may be taken for promoteing the design of this our Presentment
as to Your Honours. and Worps. shall Seem meet.
