Anno Dui 1699

Ann Tills< no role > Widdow one of ye Informts. saith that one Bridgett
Welld
< no role > (Lately deced) was Servant to one Anne Flower< no role >
this Informts. mother who keep's a Coffee house
in Magpye Alley in Fanchurch Streett and that
on ye 18th day of September last abt. 2 of ye Clock
in ye afternoon she this Informt. being above stairs
hearthe sd Bridgett Wells called her down; and
when this Informt came down there was one Richard
Brown
< no role > in ye Coffee roome who was calling ye said
Bridgett to [..] where & bitch & severall ill
names, where upon she replyed that she was
no moor a Scotch bitch than he was or words to
that effect; And this Informt. further saith that
she saw ye sd Browne take a lighted Candle
out off ye Candle stick & fling att ye sd Welld, who
thinking that he had flung ye Candle stick also
went into ye Chimney Corner to defender her
self & stooping low at ye same time this Informt
saw ye sd Browig we ye sd Wells a kick or ye right
side of her breast, who thereupon cryed out he
had given her her deaths wound or words to that
effect; and further saith that before such time
as she reced that kick she used to do her worke
very well, but afterwards was not able to do
her worke [..] but was forced to leave her service,
whihc she did ye next day in ye evening being very
ill at that time, and this Informt saith that
the went sea all times to see her before she dyed
