Upon the humble Petition of the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Buttolph
wth. out Bishoppsgate London setting forth their numbers
of Poore people in their Parish to be mainteyned
And their utter inability of themselves to mainteyne
them notwth. Standing the excessive rates assessed on the
Inhitants wth. in the said Parish for that purpose
whereby many rich persons have departed thence
And severall of the poore Inhitants are gone for
Souldiers And left their familyes on the charge of the
said Pish And that they have had but £50. out of sevall
Parishes in London for their releife for some yeares
past whoe before the yeare 1666. had about £60. Annu
out of sevall Parishes for that purpose Itt is ordered that
their said Peticon be referred to the consideracon of Sr. Tho.

And that they be pleased to reporte their opinions
therein to his Maties. Justices of the Peace att the
next Genall Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be
holden for this City That such further order
may be made thereon according to the Law in
such case provided
