Whereas by a late Act of Parliament made concerning
Highways Itt is amongst other things Enacted That the
Justices of the Peace in every County & place shall have
power & authority att their Quarter Sessions next after
Easter yearely to assesse and rate the rates & prices of
all Land carriage of goods whatsoever to be brought into
any place or places within their respective Limitts &
Jurisdicons by any Common Waggoner or Carrye Etc
Whereuppon Itt is Ordered by this Court And the
Rt. Honourable Sr. Thomas Stampe< no role > Knt . Lord Maior of
this City is desired to Issue forth this Bonors. precept
to the severall Aldren within this City & the Libertyes
thereof forthwith to require the severall Innkeepers Porters
or Warehouse keepers belonging to any Waggoner or Carryers
Comeing to any June or place within the Limitts of
their Severall Wards To bring in to his Honor the severall
rates & prices by them required & taken for the sand
Carriage of any goods whatsoever As well in winter as
in Summer on Munday the 25th. day of Aprill Instant
And when required to Testify to and before Sr. Peter
