The Informacon of John Murfey< no role > Watchman taken
before Sr Jno Fleet< no role > Knt . Lord Maior of the Citty of
London & one of there Majties. Justices of the peace
for the said Citty this 8 day of March 1692

John Murfey< no role > Informt Saieth he being Watchman att the stand
in one Change corner on Sunday Morning last betwixt one &
two a clock in the Morning being the fifth of March instant Mr
Wade the Constable calling this Informt of from his stand went
to the Shippard Taverne in Cheapside & goeing into Shippard Court
hearing Musick the Constable and this Informt went into the
house where this Informt saw threemen the Constable asked
what Company there was in the house they told him only
a Pson of quality and but the Constable goe up Staires
to disturbe him if he durst this Informt goeing up Staires
with the Constable saw a Pson playing upon a Harpe &
one Wm Cooke< no role > with a flaske of wine in one hand and a
Glase in the other and Mr Sheppard the Master of the house
in bed in the said roome whereupon the Constable comitted
the Misitionr & Wm Cooke< no role > to the Compter & this Informt goeing
with them thither & comeing back to the said Taverne wth
the Constable the Constable Knockt sevall times att the doore
att length a man came to the doore & told the Constable the
Mr had the Keyes up staires & could not open itt & the
man asked Mr Constable what business he had their &
the Constable Comanding in the Kings name to open the door
which being done the Constable meet with an abuseve pson
and ordered him to be carried to the Compter then a
Drawer comeing downe Staires told the Constable that a
Lord would spake with him above the Constable answerd
if he had any thing to say to him he might come down
if he pleased and then the Lord came downe & told the
Constable he had but three sarts with him & he had
Comitted two of them & comanded them to fetch them
out or else he would lay him by the heales and Monday
the Constable answered his Authority did not extend
so farr
