taken on Oath
before me this 24th. Day of July 1789.
Who being on Oath severally say and first the said
Thomas Hodgson< no role >
for himself Says that the person now present who
[..] Calls himself William Flower< no role >
has been his Servant about
two years last past that this morning he received intelligence from
the said John Smeeton< no role >
that his said Servant William Flower< no role >
had
taken out of his Shop in as Clandeshire manner two bundles of Paper
and as he head received no order to take out any Paper this
Morning Informant immediately suspected him to have Robbed him
that the two bundles of Paper called Small hand now produced he found in the
Lodging of the said James Bolton< no role >
in Hungerford Market
and the
the same is the property of this Informant And the said John
Smeeton< no role >
for himself says that this morning about Six o'Clock as
he was Standing at his Masters door which is opposite to the said
Thomas Hodgsons< no role >
he saw the said William Flower< no role >
take two
bundles of Paper out of the said Thomas Hodgsons Shop and
Carry them into Harveys buildings which is close by and immediately
Returned directly after which [..] a man whom he believes to be
James Bolton< no role >
also now present came out of the said Buildings
with a bag which Informant Suspected to contain the two
bundles of Paper he had before seen in the Possession of the said
William Flower< no role >
And this Informant further says that he soon
after acquainted his Master with the above transaction who went
to the said Thomas Hodgson< no role >
whom Informant also related the same to
And the said James Bolton< no role >
for himself says that this Morning
about Six oClock the said William Flower< no role >
came to this Informant
