from his Duty, and this Informant had received Orders to
apprehend him and convey him to the pay Serjeant that
this Informant then secured said Hine and asked him the
Reason why he had absented himself from his Duty, who
answered this Informant, that "he had heard that Duckworth
(who this Informant says is also a private in the same
Regiment) had told of the Robbery which he (Hine) and
said Duckworth had committed at Serjeant Palmers"
or Words to that effectthat Informant then said to said
Hine "so Duckworth was along with you, because he
(Duckworth) has denied it; Hine then replied " he was
with one for he threw up the Window and that then
Duckworth said Damme which shall go in, and
that he (Hine) answered I will, and that he did go in
through the Window and said Hine also told this
Informant that when he was in the House of said
Palmer he gave Duckworth a Shirt through the
Window, upon which Duckworth said "that is not all
look again", upon which Hine said that he then
gave Duckworth an Handkerchief and a pair of
Stockings through the Window and then left the
HouseAnd this Informant says that said Hine at the
same Time told him that they took the Shirt to Duck
Lane and Pawn'd it for three Shillings and that the
Stockingsonwhich he then had been at were those be took out of Serjt. Palmers room
And the said Nicholas Palmer< no role > for himself saith
that having reported the said Edward Hine to his office
for absenting himself from Duty, and having been informed
by the Informant Walker that Hine had confessed to
him that he and Duckworth had robb'd this Informants
