The Informations of Samuel Elliot< no role >
Servant to William Jones< no role > of Brentford
Lighterman Thomas Petty< no role > of Beurondsey
Agent to Messrs. Jukes Coltson & Compy.
Anchorsmiths and the said William
Jones
< no role > taken before me this 5th. day of
February 1787 .

Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said
Samuel Elliot< no role > for himself says that in Sunday the
28th. day of January lastwhobetween twelve and
one o'Clock while he was in bed on Board his Masters
Barge which was then lying on the River Thames
near Milford Lane in the County of Middlesex
that he heard the rattling of a Chain That he immediately
got up unlock'd the Cabbin door look't out and saw
four or five Men on board the said Barge taking out
the Chain that upon his locking out one of said four
a five Men came to said Cabbin door shut it to and
threatned if he came out again he would blow his
brains out That he accordingly with drow and when
he got up the next Morning about seven o'Clock he
found the Chain was taken away And the said
Thomas Petty< no role > for himself says that the Chain now
produced was brought to him to purchase by the
Persons now present who call themselves John
Millor and Henry Woolcot< no role > That upon his
questioning them how they came by it Their
Answerd was they found it in the Thames near
the Yard of Mr. Holland Lighter Builder on
Rotherkithe Wall And the said William
