before me this 11th day of April 1786
Who being upon Oath say and first the said William Wiltshire< no role >
says that this Morning a person now present who calls himself
Edward Haycock< no role >
came into his Masters Coffee Room and asked for
a Bason of Gravy Soap which this Informant gave him and with
it a Silver table Spoon, that after eating his Soup he went out
that this Informant went to the place where said Edward
Haycock< no role >
had eat and discovered the Silver table Spoon gone
and the pewter Spoon now produced left in the place when
he and John Sayer< no role >
pursued him towards Somerset House
and caused him to be apprehended, And the said John Sayer< no role >
saith that the Silver Spoon now produced he is very sure
is the Property of his Master Thomas Munday< no role >
and is very
sure is the same Spoon which he gave to said William
Wiltshire< no role >
that said Edward Haycock< no role >
paid this Informant
Six pence for his Soup as he went out, and on being informed
that the Silver Spoon was gone he pursued him to the Statuary near Somerset
House
where he saw him throw said Spoon away
