Middlesex to wit.


The Information of David Drummond< no role > of
Sackville Street Piccaddilly , Thomas Vennell< no role > Servant
to the said David Drummond< no role > and John Willott< no role >
Servant to Lord Sempill of Saville Row taken before
me this 18th.. day of April 1786 .

Who being upon Oath say and first the said David Drummond< no role >
says that about two Months ago he lost two Drafts drawn by Lord Sempill
that said Drafts where brought to him by a Person now present who calls
himself Jonathan Harwood< no role > and another person who Informant has since
understood to be Wetherell, to whom Informant gave One Shillings each as a
Gratuity for bringing said Drafts, That on Friday Evening last the 15th Instant
Informant being in the Green Park he was accosted by said Harwood who
said he was one of the Soldiers who found the Drafts and that Informant
had not behaved like a Gentleman by not giving them more than a Shilling
each upon which Informant told him he thought it was Sufficient as the
Drafts had been paid and were of no use to any Person, that said Harwood
said it too little and that he would not leave him until he gave him more
Money on which Informant gave him One Shilling and told him to go about
his business, that said Harwood then said that was too little, Informant
said he would give him no more and it which time they had came into Saint
James's Park , when said Harwood still said he would not leave him and
immediately Added he would Swear that Informant was concerned with
him in an Unatural Crime when said Drafts were Dropped, that
Informant then walked towards the Queens Palace and repeatedly desired
said Harwood to leave him, when Harwood insisted upon having more Money
Informant told him he had only a little Silver and gave him an half Crown
and three Six pences that Harwood still said it was not Sufficient, Informant
then asked him what he did want, but Harwood would not till him
what he wished to have, Informant told him be no more Money than he
had then given him, but if he would Meet him on Monday Night he would
give him a Guinea that Harwood said a Guinea was no object to him
and insisted upon going home with Informant, who insisted he should not
That Harwood said he would not leave him, Informant then said if he
would go home with him he would give him two Guineas, Informant
then walked on, and Harwood then followed him, and near the Queens Palace
