the twenty third day of duly last of a Robbery on the King's Highway
for which they were by law liable to suffer Death without benefit of
Clergy, but to whom his. Majesty hath been since graciously pleased to
Extend his Royal Mercy upon Condition of their being kept to hard
Labour for the term of four years in raising sand, Soil and Gravel
from and cleansing the River Thomas under the direction of the Superintend

or Superintendants appointed by the Act of Parliament in such case made
and provided And such intention of mercy having been notified in
writing to the Court first abovementioned by the Right Honourable Sir
