Middlesex to Wit

The Information of James Kerton< no role > of Saint Anns
Lane Westminster a Soldier in the Cold stream
Regiment of foot Guards and Joseph Percival< no role >
of the Same place one of the Constable of the
parish of Saint John the Evangelist Westminster
in the said County taken before me this
24th. day of December 1782

Who being upon Oath say and first the said James Kerton< no role > says that about eleven o Clock in the
forenoon of Saturday the fourteenth day of December instant as
he was passing along Saint Anns Lane Westminster he saw
several Persons to the Number of twelve or more who were
riotously assembled to the Disturbance of the Public Peace
and some of whom were with force demolishing and pulling
down four Dwelling Houses situate in Saint Anns Lane
aforesaid in the said Parish of Saint John the Evangelist aforesaid
belonging to the Governors of the Grey Coat Hospital in Tothill
fields of the Royal Foundation of Queen AnneThat he
is very sure he saw a person now present who calls himself
William Goldsmith< no role > who had in his Hand a large Scaffolding
Rope which he threw across a Beam and which Rope had
at [..] its end a Loop which fastened to said Beam
which he with the Assistance of Numbers of others pulled down by which means great part of one
of said Houses fell inand the said Joseph Percival< no role > says
that about three o Clock on the said fourteenth day of
December he was in Saint Anns Lane aforesaid and saw
the said William Goldsmith< no role > carry away a great Quantity
of Wood and Timber from the Houses that were pulled
down as aforesaid
