The Information of James Lash< no role > Servant to
Richard White< no role > of Little Illford in the County of Essex Yeoman taken on Oath
before us three of His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace Acting in and for the said County this
2d day of January 1783

Who being on his Oath saith that about one Year
and one half ago one William Darby< no role > of East ham
in the County of Essex Labr . came to him this Informant in
his Masters Stable at little Ilford afsd and asked
him if he would take two Jacks of Potatoes for him
up to Town That he consented thereto that Darby
& he this Informant took the said two Sacks from
out of a Field belonging to Mr Dyer in Ilford Lane
and carried them in his Masters Cart to Mill End
andThat Darby did there deliver the said two
Jacks of Potatoes to one John Groves< no role > who is Hestler
atand was then at the house of Mr Popex the Sign of the Coach and Horses there
That the said William Darby< no role > about a Month ago
came again to him in his Masters Stable at little
Ilfordasaforesaid and desired hin to take
to Town for him three Parcels which lay in a
Dunghil in Mr Scotts Field in Ilford Lane afsd
saith that he took up the said three Parcels
accordingly which were lead and in three
Sacks that Darby delivered the said lead and
Sacks at an Old Iron Shop in Back Lane near
Well close square That within a Week afterwards
he carried two Sacks of Wheat for andbyat the
request of the said William Darby< no role > which were
left by the said Darby and one John Hurley< no role >
with the Hostler at the Sign of the Old why not
onat Mill End aforesaid in an out house belonging
thereto That the said William Darby< no role > told him
he had taken the said two Sacks of Wheat
out of Mr Weavers Barn at Mary lands Point
that Wm. Crabb his Father in law had lefthim
the Barn door open for that Purpose That
he this Informant took the said two Sacks
of Wheat up in a field belonging to Farmer
Huddle in Ilford Road and that Darby was
then Assisted by the said John Hurley< no role >
That at the same time he carried two Sacks
