The Information of John Clark< no role > , and Charles Jealous< no role >
taken before me this 6th.. day of Septemr. 1782.

Who being on Oath say and first the said John Clark< no role > says that on
Monday last he this Informant with others went to a House No.. 1
in China Row Tottenham Court Road , in which House Money was
suspected to be coined. That in the back Cellar of said House he found
a Large Press fixed, with a Pair of Dies therein, [..] a Quantity of
counterfeit Half pence lying near it and also a Quantity of Blanks
ready for Stamping and two Candles lighted. That in the front Cellar
of said House he found a Great Quantity of counterfeit Half pence
which had been Recently Stamped and evidently from another pair
of Dies which he found near the Press in the back Cellar.
And the said Charles Jealous< no role > says that he was with Mr.. Clarke
at this time and when they first got to the House the Maid came
out and locked the door after her. That this Informant took the
Key from her unlocked the door and ran down stairs where
he found two persons now present who call themselves John
Morgan
< no role > and Edward Tylee< no role > concealed under the Stairs, without
their Coats, their Shirt Sleeves tucked up, [..] a coarse Apron
tied round Tylee, and both their Hands very black, That he
observed Morgan throw away a Quantity of Counterfeit Half pence
which this Informant picked up and on comparing them perceived
they had been struck from the Dies which were in the Press.
And further says that a Hat which this Informant found lying
on the Blanks, was claimed by Tylee who said "it was his."
