The Information of Henry Hervey Aston< no role > , Robert
Chaplin
< no role > , William Craggs< no role > , [..] William Smith< no role >
and John Watts< no role > taken before me this 26th.. day
of August 1782.

Who being on Oath say and first the said Henry Hersey< no role > Aston
for himself says that a Person now Present who calls himself
Henry Lavell< no role > was his Servant and absconded on or about
Friday sevenight last and stole a Gold Watch now produced
this Informants Property, as well as a Gold Chain now produced
And further says that two Orders for Payment of Money
now produced were not drawn by this Informant nor by
his Order or Authority, but are false forged and counterfeited.
And the said Robert Chaplin< no role > says that he is a Porter at Mr.
Brewers in the Piazza Covent Garden That the said Henry
Lavell
< no role > lodged in his Master's house on Friday Night last and
on Saturday morning he desired to have Ten Ink & Paper
which this Informant carried to himthat said Henry Lavell< no role >
shortly after rung the Bill and gave this Informant an
Order for Payment of Money [..] now produced
purporting to be the Order of H H Aston No.. 12 Lower Seymour Street Portman Square on Mrs.. Drummond
Charing Cross , for the Payment of Five Pounds five Shillings
to the Bearer or Ordertelling this Informant at the same
time that "he was to carry the said Order to Mr.. Drummonds
and receive five Guineas" and added that "he this Informants
must sign his Name on the Back of it"; but which was not
required at the time of Payment. That he received the five
Guineas and carried the same to the said Lavell. That
