for the said County
Who being severally upon Oath say and first this
Informant John Pope< no role >
for himself oath saith that he
is Shopman
to the other Informant Hubert Hussey< no role >
who lives the Corner of Hays is Court Saint Anne
Westminster
Linen Draper
that about half an hour
Past two oClock this afternoon the two Persons now
present who call themselves Sarah Jones< no role >
& Mary
Smith< no role >
came to his Master's Shop an tested loser
some Handkerchiefs & this Informant Sold a Coloured
Linen Handkerchief to Mary Smith white this Informant
was serving them he observed Sarah Jones conveying
some Handkerchiefs under her Apron and they went out
of the Shop & as soon as they were gone this Informant
Missed some Pieces of the Handkerchiefs of the same
[..] sent now produced upon which he Informed Mr Hussey
of the Circumstances who pursuedthen& brought them back
to the Shop. & near to the Place where this Informantsaw
them takesuspectedthe Handkerchiefs [..] the said
Sarah Jones & Mary Smith went & upon the Floor this
Informant saw the two Pieces of Handkerchiefs now produced
which are the Property of the said Hubert Hussey and
John Whitter< no role >
and that there was not any thing upon the
Floor untill the said persons were brought back into the
Shop in order to be searched as above described
And this Informant John Jones for himself saith
that soon of Two oClock this afternoon in King
Street Saint Anne he saw the other Informant
Hubert Hussey stop the two Women now present who
call themselves Sarah Jones & Mary Smith &
told them they must go with him to his Shop upon which
he went with them to the Shop the Corner of Hays's
Court & when they came into the Shop this Informant
saw the two Pieces of Handkerchiefs now produced
drop from under the Pettycoats of the said Sarah Jones
and the saud Mary Smith& Immediately they and Mary Smith made to the
Door. [..] kicked her patten soft and Ran away this Informant
