The Information of John Hope< no role > taken
before me this 10th. day of December 1772

Who being upon Oath says that on the 3d. day of December
Instant he was drinking at the Black horse Alehouse in Bell yard
Temple Bar , that Christopher Lawless< no role > and Thomas Plunkett< no role >
now present came into the said house, that the said Christopher
Lawless
< no role > pulled a Watch now produced out of his Pocket and delivered
it to the said Thomas Plunkett< no role > , that the said Thomas Plunkett< no role >
desired this Informant to pawn the said Watch for him, that upon
this Informant asking the said Thomas Plunkett< no role > why he could
not pawn the Watch himself the said Thomas Plunkett< no role > said
the said Christopher Lawless< no role > had tried to pawn it at several
places but could get no more than sixteen or eighteen Shillings
upon it. that this Informant went and offered the said Watch
to pawn at Mr. Jarvis's in Fetter Lane, that upon the Pawnbroker
stopping the said Watch this Informant went back [..] to the
Black horse Alehouse aforesaid where he found the said
Thomas Plunkett< no role > and Christopher Lawless< no role > . that the said
Thomas Plunkett< no role > and another Man in a brown Coat went with
this Informant to the Pawnbroker's Door and this Informant
and the said Man in a brown Coat went in, that the said Man
asked the Pawnbroker why he stopt the said Watch and
then went away and this Informant went also, that when he
came back to the Black horse he found the said Thomas Plunkett< no role >
there, that about 5 Weeks ago he took a black horse from the
Pewter Platter in St. John Street to the New Inn over Westmr.
Bridge at the desire of the said Christopher Lawless< no role > , that about
a Month or five weeks ago he took two brown horses at
