taken on Oath before me James Spagg< no role > one of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County the 22d.
day of February one thousand seven hundred and seventy
three

Who saith that no the night of Tuesday the 9th of Febry
instant about or betwixt two and three o'Clock being
Bed with Sarah< no role > his Wife , his said Wife, said to him she
heard some person on the Stair case, where upon this informant
got or went out of Bed and went towards and to the Door
which lead into his Room which was immediately pushed
open against him and a man instantly Struck at him
with a Cut lap (as he believes) and therewith Cut and
Wounded him on the Head; where upon he this informant
laid hold and seized a Man by the Cholar which said Man
this informant says is now present [..] (and says his name
is Robert Welton< no role > ) but on seeing another man coming towards
him with a Pistol and threatning to Blow his Brains out
he retreated and got into his room and bolted his room Door
and immediately calld, out Watch-Watch and immediately
two or more Watchmen came; says that upon search he
found that his Kitchen Window had been broke open through
which he believes the said Robert Wilton< no role > and the other
person or persons got in to his said House in Spital fields afd
in the County aforesaid.
