for the said City & Liberty
Who Severally being upon Oath say and first
this Informant John Gordon< no role >
for himself
saith that on Saturday the 29th. of December
last about 10 o'Clock at Night he was coming
out of the Opera House
in the Hay Market
and
as soon as he was out of the Crowd he left
for his pocket Book & found thatinhis Pocket
had been Picked of it and saith that the said Pocket
Book was a Red Morocco Book and Contained
at the time it was Stole a Bank Note of the
Value of 20Ls: with several other Papers
& among them a Bill of Exchange Drawn

upon this Informant
for 20Ls. which said Bill had been Accepted
by & Paid for this Informant on the 29th
of Novr. fast And this Informant further
saith that the said Bill of Exchange was
brought to him Yesterday by and David
Rhodes< no role >
to know if the Same was a Good Bill
and whether the Informant would pay it
Whereupon [..] he Stopped the
said David Rhodes< no role >
who upon his Examination
declared it had been delivered to him by his
Brother

which said Pocket
Book now producedAnd this Informant
further saith that the Red Moroco Pocket Book
now Paed used is the Pocket Book which was
Stolen from this Informant at the time &
place aforesaid & which did then contain
the Bank Note of 20L [..] several other Papers
and the Bill of Exchange as above described
