The Information of Matthew Matthewson< no role > taken
before me this 28th. day of February 1770

Who being upon Oath says that he knows Benjamin Murphy< no role > Thomas
Bird
< no role > & John Bird< no role > , says that on Thursday Night was Sevenight the
said Thomas Bird< no role > the Said John Bird< no role > the said Benjamin Murphy< no role >
and this Informant broke open a house in China Row Chelsea,
from whence they Stole a great Quantity of Plate which the said Thomas
Bird
< no role > sold part of it to Sarah Pitman< no role > otherwise Cave in his own Room in
his father's house in Shepherd's Court Clerkenwell and the Remainder of it to
a Jew in the Same place, says that on a Sunday Night about a Month or
five Weeks ago the said Benjamin Murphy< no role > the said Thomas Bird< no role > the
anda person who goes by the Name of Jem Dumby and this Informant
broke open a Hosier's Shop in Holborn and Stole a Quantity of Stockings
which were sold by the said Thomas Bird< no role > and Benjamin Murphy< no role > to a Jew
in Mrs. Evans's in St. Giles's , says that Saturday Night was sevenight
the said John Bird< no role > and the said Benjamin Murphy< no role > called to this Informant
who was then in his own Room in Bambridge Street St. Giles's and desired him
to go out with them, that he did not go with them but lent them a Chisel
that the next Morning the said Benjamin Murphy< no role > and the said John
Bird
< no role > told this Informant that they had broke open a house in Parliament
Street and had left the Plate they had Stolen with one Hannah at Mrs. Evans's
in St. Giles's , that the said John Bird< no role > then had on a pair of Breeches which
he told this Informant he had stolen out of the said house in Parliament Street & which
he afterwards exchanged for another pair in Monmouth Street , says
that the said John Bird< no role > has Since told this Informant that they had sold
the said Plate to the said Sarah Pitman< no role > otherwise Cave
